Linux DVD won't play until ejected (yes! )
#1
Hi,
on my XBMC some DVDs won't play correctly until I use "Eject". Because I have --lock-media in my udev rules set - it won't actually eject BUT when I press "play disc" again afterwars - it plays correctly.

By incorrect play I mean: (in this particular example) it starts playing Warner Brothers logo - and when it's done it goes back to XBMC menu. The same happens when I press "next chapter" or "go to (dvd) menu". After "ejecting" all works just fine.

I'm running Lubuntu 12.10 with XBMC 12.

Could you please help me with that?

Maybe when disc is "ejected" XBMC performs unmounting - after which it can play (recognize?) the disc correctly. However I wasn't able to make it play correctly for the first time myself (tried unmounting the disc before turning on XBMC) ...

After some time I found some kind of solution:

Here is what helped me to play dvds without this "ejecting" them first:
sudo /usr/share/doc/libdvdread4/install-css.sh
