XBMC Frodo and Ready NAS duo v2
#1
Hi Everyone,

Hope you can help I have a Netgear Ready Nas Duo v2 (2x2TB) plugged into my router that then goes to a dlan power line adaptor then to my HTPC in the same room

HTPC core duo 2 3.06ghz
Ge force gt210
2gb ram
Windows 7 premium (32bit)

The issue is when I try to access either 720p mkv files or (4gb) iso files it keeps buffering everyone few seconds more so on ISO images though??

Could you please advise why this is happening I would have thought powerline should be more than quick enough for streaming these kind of videos?

Source is setup with NFS protocol

Many thanks

Do a simple speed test. Take a file and note how big it is, then do a simple file transfer from the NAS to the HTPC and time how long it takes. Then use MediaInfo (wiki) to see what the overall bitrate of the movie is.

It's not the file size that matters, but the over-all bitrate the video plays back at.

Bitrate on one film is 5375kbps sounds quite alot!
