Nook HD Plus $179
#1
I didn't buy it for my Mother but I did take advantage of B&N's mother's day sale & picked up a Nook HD Plus for $179.

However their native video player barfs on a lot of my files. Apparently it doesn't like 5.1 stereo or mp3 audio and that eliminates about 99% of my collection. Since the full Play store is available I can find another player (looking at moboplayer right now) but I'd like to use XBMC.

There is almost NO discussion of this tablet around here so I'm going to ask:
1) has anyone loaded XBMC,
2) did you do it without rooting & loading something like CM,
3) does hardware acceleration work?

Much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Can't provide much help but if you got the rooting or custom rom route check out the XDA forums, they provide great support for a ton of android devices and often have individual forums for different devices. You also may get some answers if you post in the Application subforum.
