HDDs sleep - Stop them from waking up
#1
Hi all,

I put my HDDs, located in an unRAID Server, to sleep after 1 hour of inactivity. Whenever I browse through my movies, the drive with the moviefolder (containing extrafanart and extrathumbs) is spinning up. I dont like that to happen.

Is there any way to outsource EVERY kind of data, except for the movie-file, to my servers cache drive or my HTPCs SSD? I know that I have a Thumbnail folder on my HTPCs SSD, can I somehow also put the extrafanart on the SSD?
The cache drive is always runnning, so that doesnt matter.
Can I achieve this with a MySQL DB on my server?

Any advice?

Thanks!

Settings -> Videos -> File lists -> Disable "Extract thumbnail and video information"
