I do these two things.

1) Add addon from Zip file - click this choice and the system appears to freeze, but it seems to be taking inventory of my system. This seems to take forever, but more like a few minutes and then finally you are presented with drives and locations to navigate and find the Zip file.

2) Exit - when I select this, again the system seems to freeze, when again it appears to be doing something based on hard drive actiivity, etc. Seems to take between 5 and 10 minutes to close the program.

Your debug log (wiki) may provide some clues as to what the app is doing when you perform these tasks. Upload your xbmc.log to www.xbmclogs.com and post the assigned URL here with your reply.
