Fantastic skin, just wish I could get it to work! I'm sure it's me being stupid, but....
- after installing I got a black overlay showing an image of the xbox controller. Pressing and holding esc showed the home window but releasing it switched back to the overlay. Not sure how but I somehow got it working in the end on one of my PCs. I've been unsuccessful getting any further on another PC.
- I always get service.pi failed on startup
- I see no thumbnails or titles in my video or music libraries, just the placeholder squares.
- When trying to install via the zip rather than copying the skin across, I get a 'dependencies not met' error (despite copying all the files as instructed).

I am using latest version of Frodo. Have I missed some undisclosed steps?

You just have to find the toggle in the skin settings to rerun the initial setup. That usually fixes everything.

You need to install all of the dependencies from that .zip into your addons folder too, then it should install just fine.

Yess I use an xbox 360 Kinect with xbmc that's correct I use it only for speech support together with windows speech and vox commando the Kinect is connected to my pc by a special usb adapter
Vox commando includes most of the xbmc commands by standard.i use a prime sence driver for the Kinect prime sence is the company dat developed the xbox 360 Kinect for Microsoft recently apple bought it I believe

I installed vox commander trial… doesn't seem to recognize very many commands. I'm gonna keep playing with it. Thanks for the tip!

Ah ok, I think I was having problems getting through setup process. It ran through the updates and audio checks, then at the sign-in step after agreeing to the privacy settings it played the intro video (there was no option to sign-in) then a blank screen. Pressing enter after waiting a bit signed me out and logging back in took me to the home window. Bit temperamental, but got there in the end!

I tried this process again, but still don't see thumbnails or titles for my library items and I still get the service.py failure.

Re. installing via zip - this was after coping the dependencies to add-ons.

I get a service.py failure as well, not sure about the library issues. My libraries appear just fine. Gonna have to ask Toyota about that one.

It's the view. That's also what I get when I use the 'thumb' view. Arrow down til you see the bar at the bottom pop up and choose 'Extended' or 'Poster' or whatever it is.

@ADHDMedia : Thanks! if i do end up adding another OSD menu then it will be optional from the settings so that if anyone prefers a different one then they can switch back to that.

@grote345 : I'm not sure if this is possible, but i have never used Vox Commando so i'm not sure. I will take a look in to it when i get home and see if it's possible.

@Seya16 : It sort of works on gotham. Some features will crash XBMC like the context menu and some of the plugins. But i will be testing it out properly soon and will try my best to fix the problems and make it more stable.
Also have you tried installing the dependencies and running the setup from the skin settings ? As most features won't work with these not installed. And the setup enables most skin features.

@ADHDMedia : If you are interested in using voice commands then i already have this feature integrated in to the skin (Only on Windows Platform)
You can access this from going in to the skin settings - devices and enable voice commands then you can use your voice to control XBMC. (After you have ran the speech setup)

@grote345 : The friends section is far from complete at the moment. The reason only one label is highlighted is because this shows what section that you are currently on. E.g. if you click favourites then that label will light up.

And that is the setup screen. You will need to click A on your xbox controller or enter on your keyboard and follow all of the steps. Otherwise the skin won't work.
Have you installed all of the dependencies in to the XBMC addons folder ?
If you are using Windows and have the new snap feature or Bing enabled in the settings then you will need to extract the Assistance folder in to the root of your HDD (C:\Assistance)

@johnb : If sections of the skin are not showing up properly e.g. thumbnails. Then you don't have the dependencies installed correctly.
The dependencies and assistance can be downloaded from page 1.
Dependencies go in to the xbmc\addons folder
Assistance goes in to C:\Assistance (Only if you are runing windows os)

@ADHDMedia : Do you have the assistance folder installed ? if so do you still experience these errors when the bing and snap feature is disabled ?

@johnb : Some of the views are not meant for certain libraries. E.g. grid view doesn't work very well with assons section. You will just need to play around with the skin settings. You can enable/disable views from the custom section. And you can enable the appbar from the other section. With the appbar when you are in your library if you press down a little menu poppes up where you can select what view you want.
In the next update i will try my best to improve the views so that they are not included in sections they don't work with.

I will take a look in to the problems when i get home and i will also try to finish and release the update for it some time today.

Currently in the next update i have already added :

Option to snap music to dashboard.
Fixed pins section.
A more option in the store sectoins - this will open up a big list of content for that section. E.g. the games section will open up a big list of popular games where you can watch trailers/gameplay for them. Also in next updates i can keep adding more content.
Better animations on tiles.
Cleaned code.
Added landscape extended list view.
List first 4 favourites at the bottom of the dashboard.
Shutdown menu option on top left of dashboard.
Fixed Exit button
Updated Xbox controller keymap.
Fixed arrow up for music/movies ect.

There are still a few more things that i would like to include in the next update including some fixes for some sections but i will try and release the update as soon as possible

thanks for library on dash board but could you add tv shows and make them changing to the 5 last added items automatically ( like xperience does )?
It will add movement to the dash board that way.Also option for weather fanart for this tile would be great!
My keymaps is named "wireless 360 controller" so I think that your keymaps ( that I install ) don't work for me, I didn't find anything changed... I'm not able to snap anything...
Well that's it, your skin is getting close to perfection ( for a "metro like " skin I mean ) for me!!

I've been looking at this thread and I'm curious, how are you handling the colors? I'm also creating an xbox NXE/One hybrid for the xbox @ xbmc4xbox.org.uk (I don't use XBMC for PC) and I'm the one who created the gamertag script; I've updated the script to incorporate friends, games played and achievements, I should be realeasing the update in about a week or so, if you're interested.

Either way, your skin looks impressive!

I don't see those options. Changing the options I do have doesn't make any difference.

@bakito : Yeah sure! i could add this feature in to the next update.
And they should work fine if you remove your current xbox 360 controller keymap (back it up somewhere) and copy over the other ones then it should pick it up. I don't see why it wouldn't as it should work with every xbox controller.
If not then you could rename it to the name of your current XBL.
If it still doesn't work then to be able to snap stuff and open up the charms bar then you will need to open up your current keymap and edit the line where it says :

<button id="8">ActivateWindow(PlayerControls)</button>
and change this in to :
<button id="8">ActivateWindow(55)</button>
This will then open up the charms bar with the start button.

(If you want to download and test my keymaps then i recommend that you wait until the update is online as i will be updating the keymaps as well.)

@Dom DXecutioner : The colours are all aarrggbb hex values inside of the colour names .xml assigned to names like

<color name="Background_Highlight">FFFF8C00</color>

And then you can change the color options from the skin settings built in to XBMC.

To display the colours i always use :

<texture>colors\color_white.png</texture>
<colordiffuse>Background_Highlight</colordiffuse>

On an image control.

And yeah i think i've come across it before! is it the NXE Twist skin ? If so then Beautiful work! and great work with the gamertag script too, it works perfectly!
Yeah I'm very interested, i'd love to integrate this in to my skin
Also have you ever looked at the XBL friends script ? this might be useful for you as this script can get certain info for when people come online on xbox live and it can display what they are playing too. (See page 1 if you are interested)

@ADHDMedia : I have had a little play with it and sadly it's unavailable in my country. So i can't even get past the addon settings screen. I could change around some of the addon textures and upload a copy if you like ? but i won't be able to test them out on mine and see how it looks so it may end up looking pretty bad.

@johnb : In the latest version that i will be uploading in about half an hour this view option has been removed as it seems to be causing problems. For now to fix this problem you just need to go in to your skin settings and disable thumbnail view.
