Frodo 12.2 Please confirm dual audio feature?
#1
Hi All

Currently I use Eden with this feature:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=86038

This allows me to run my HTPC into both the lounge TV (with speakers) and under the floor into my bedroom TV (via HDMI sound).

Can someone please confirm if Frodo 12.2 has this dual audio feature as in the dual audio thread I linked above it doesn't have frodo support, but then I was googling around and found this post:

http://xbian.org/2013/03/xbmc-frodo-12-1-more/

Which if you read down has this snippet:

Quote:•Dual audio output; output audio via analogue & HDMI at the same time. You can enable this under System -> Settings -> System -> Audio ouptut -> Set audio output to “all”. (lots of thanks to stupid-boy!)

But I have searched and searched around the offical xbmc forums/wiki and can't find this listed anywhere.

Its pretty much a make or break feature for me, if Frodo can't do it then I'll be staying with Eden until it can?

Just after a confirmation?

Thanks

Must ... resist ... argh ... the pain ... cannot ...

No - it does not have a duel audio feature. However I believe that a dueling banjos mode will be going in soon.

As far as I know this dual audio never went in XBMC. After that, AudioEngine was born and changed how XBMC handles audio. The link you refer to seems to say stupidboy did this rewrite of dual audio for Frodo. And I think Magao is suggesting an existing Pull Request is pending....

So as of now I should stay with Eden?

There is a very long thread with methods of getting this working in frodo:

If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thumbs up' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "thumbs up" button.)

Should I have put a link to dueling banjos on YouTube ... or have I misinterpreted your straight man post?

So did you just stick with Eden or did you find a solution for Frodo? I have the same issues as you, I need that dual output and I'm using Windows7.
I might try adding a second sound card but from what I've read, that might not work either.
