[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
Love the new update, away from home atm so trying it on my macbook. the overlay crashes and no keys will work.

Logfile: http://pastebin.com/qfn8Aypy

This is running on 0.5.8a

In terms of suggestions for In-app channel manager. some clear clarification that all(?) fields are required may stop a lot of people coming here and shouting broken. I know i tried to make a internet TV quick, and forgot to put duration and had it hang on creation.

Overall its super slick
Is it possible to roll back to previous versions? This new update will only load the first nine or so channels.

Post log to fix the error..don't return to previous code.

Post a log! Tired of users running old code instead of supplying logs.. if you want to run old code so badly, i can stop pushing updates?

Or you can help out... send me logs... and foward progress can be made.

Its pointless to run old code!

The first one I noticed was a recurrence of an issue I used to have with PTVL that had gone away a few months ago, namely that I have a lot of files that skip back to their beginning if I change the channel to them while they're already in progress. I can be watching a movie, switch somewhere else and go straight back again and that movie will restart from zero. I think last time it had something to do with PTVL not liking .srt subtitle files and mp4 or mkvs being in the same folder on my drive.

The other (more frustrating) issue I've had is that PTVL seems to be causing my instance of Kodi to constantly reload the skin. I can leave it idling on the home screen and every 60-120 seconds or so the skin will flicker as though it is redrawing. If I'm watching a file, it will regularly stutter for about half a second and then carry on playing as normal. I didn't think it had anything to do with PTVL until I looked at my logs of this flicker while Kodi is idle, when I noticed that PTVL is trying to do something while it's not actually running. You can see this from line 347 onwards in this log - http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=417996 - After seeing that I realised that those intermittent stutters in playback aren't occurring when watching PTVL. Is there anything I can do to resolve this issue?

I am seeing the same reload skin issue. I am not at my box right now to pull a log but it is reloading the skin during playback as you mentioned and even when just sitting on the home page. This started occuring directly after PTVL updated from .57f to .58a.

I will up a log shortly.

(2015-02-07, 15:18)twi252 Wrote: Hey Luna,

Thanks for taking up my suggestion earlier about including EPG data from Kodis PVR back-end Smile

It works great, the only thing is the channels are out-of-order compared to what the PTVL EPG says and the channel that actually plays (did a fresh auto-tune after installing 0.5.8a).

Using a HDHomeRun Dual. I know the PVR back-end has it's own array for channel numbering, and i'm guessing thats what might be confusing things.

Other than that, the EPG tiles are populating nicely, along with descriptions, so great work!! Smile

Thanks.

out-of-order... not sure I understand (it's in sequential order).

are you talking about epg data? out of sync?

As above, the EPG says one channel, select it, and another starts playing.

This only happens on the LiveTV (PVR) channels. Have done a fresh auto-tune once installing the new ptvl update 0.5.8a.

Using OpenELEC 5.0.1 and TvHeadend for the PVR. I suspect it's the strange channel ordering Kodi's PVR back-end has (an array i think) is causing them to be out-of-sequence.

I had the same problem when manually configuring channels in older ptvl using pvr://, i had to find the (pvr) channel number against the PVRs channel numbering scheme which i think is just an array of each channel it finds when LiveTV is tuned. So when PTVL requests say (pvr) channel-7 which is labelled as CBS in ptvl, the content from another channel starts playing (whatever channel is occupying that position in the pvr's channel array).

It's tricky to put into words but hope i've explained it better Smile I havent checked the code, but thats what i think is happening..

All other channels work fine, it's just the Auto-Tuned LiveTV ones using the new feature.

Thanks!

So if you autotune PVR, and CBS is the guide data info, NBC plays?

Can you send me your settings2.xml, and a screenshot of your kodi epg guide (not ptvl, but kodi pvr) I just want to see your channel names and numbers....

I'm assuming it's past 6pm EST but i have an error. When using in-app manager to create a live tv ch type, it will hang on searching for the Channel ID from the xmltv data.

Log snippet http://pastebin.com/6y0ZQb2c
Hey luna I just saw your post on Twitter I've got one issue the channel configuration tool does not work it just sits at 90% at one point I stopped it after a hour I'm not home at the moment so I couldn't send a log.
Trying the in-app manger more, in terms of my pervious issue with it hanging when reading the xmltv file to select the channel ID. It will work the first time I attempt to read it and it will show me the entrys perfectly. Second time it will hang/crash. Then if i reboot and start again, will work first time and hang second. very odd.

This is now on v.0.5.8b and the log file is here: http://pastebin.com/aC3HFWx1

--edit

More tests, seems to work if i do the following

Select Channel type to LiveTV
do NOT pick source
do pick XMLTV name
do NOT put Channel Name
Then click Channel Id to have it read the xmltv file correctly and give me a list (granted a list that isn't filtering results based upon channel name)

I can then go and fill the missing options out and it will save. But it will not create the channel, only saying

script.pseudotv.live-ChannelList: Unable to get information about channel 1

In the log with debug on. xmltv file is called Guide, created by WebGrab+. I have used xmltv files on previous versions of PTVL that where created by WG+ that worked fine. Ill continue to play around and see what happens.

I already fixed the issue posted earlier... is this a new one?
