[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
Hello,
I just installed it yesterday and I'm really liking this plugin Smile great work, thanks!

I've been playing with it and have a very noob question Angel that i'm sure has been asked but I can't find the answer... I ran auto tuning and then added some additional video plugins eg: Espn3 etc... How do I add them to PTLV?
I re-ran auto tuning and but didn't pick up any of them.
thanks,

thanks,

Auto tune is for those who don't want to manually add. If you want a mix of both enable "reserveChannels" now you can manually add from channel 1-499 while autotune uses the rest.

Read post 2 to learn more about autotune and manual config

Thanks, I guess I have a lot more reading to do lol
Just so I understand, can you clarify what does "Force channel reset on next start" do? Because I thought that might be used for picking up new media.
thanks

It forces PseudoTV Live to rebuild all m3us,

if you add a new channel pseudotv live will automatically add it, but if you change channel 3 from ABC to NBC Pseudotv live won't build the new m3u till the old playlist is used up or until you force reset...

I would only use forcereset in cases where you make major changes to your settings2, otherwise leave it alone autotune and normal uses doesn't need it...

Cool Cool off I go... Thanks for the info
I just received notification tonight that there was an update available when starting pseudotv. When I try to apply the update, the changelog pops up, but doesn't prompt me to continue or do anything else. If I exit, it exits and doesn't apply the update.

What are you suppose to do to get it to apply the update after the changelog is displayed?
Quick question. If I am running the latest development version and it offers an update, if I allow it to update am I going to the latest dev version, or will it update me to the latest stable version?

Seems to be a bug, it was fixed but you will have to manual update. Next time it should work fine...

Autoupdate is the latest stable version, if you get the prompt then your dev copy wasn't as up to date as you thought...

all of this depends on which grabber and which way you are pulling down your schedule info

It's pulling down local information from my MythTV backend source...something kind of like

Code:
<setting id="Channel_48_1" value="I48.42274289.microsoft.com" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_2" value="pvr://channels/tv/All TV channels/55.pvr" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_3" value="xmltv" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_4" value="" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_changed" value="True" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_rule_1_id" value="1" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_rule_1_opt_1" value="UToo LiveTV" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_rulecount" value="1" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_time" value="1286" />
    <setting id="Channel_48_type" value="8" />

I have the XML file setup in pseudotv to point to the my xmltv.xml file, which is prefilled with all the information from mc2xml. I'd have to say that all together, I have maybe about 75 or so total channels in the settings2.xml file. So far, it's going on two hours to fill this, and the CPU is doing nothing in top other than the xbmc bin running.

I'm going to let it run overnight, but it just seems like it takes awhile to fill the EPG in pseudotv.

You mean pseudotv live! Let's keep things clear... no need to refer to another plugin.

Try disabling find missing guide data.

Yup, I was talking about pseudotv live. I had everything run through the process last night, and again tonight, when I started psuedotv, it started going through and updating all the channels with the xml data. I stopped that process and ran mc2xml only grabbing 24 hours of data using the command:

Code:
./mc2xml -c us -g <zip> -s -1 -d 24

This shrunk the file significantly. I also disabled the 'find missing guide data', and restarted pseudotv, and it's still taking forever to start it up. Approximately 30 seconds to a minute per channel and there's about 70 channels. I'm guessing that it has to be something that I'm doing wrong because I can't imagine people waiting a half hour just to start pseudotv and watch tv everyday.

Does it normally take this long to start pseudotv? Are people using it with mc2xml and a pvr backend (mythtv)? Are they experiencing similar issues?

Thanks!

Shouldn't take that long... but it's not the fastest process.
what r your system specs? is you xmltv file over network or local?
