@bigsteel99 I would really like a log and more info about your movie art problem. Second problem probably related to a direct plugin configuration that is incorrect.

I had similar issues with epg lag...If the movies u have lag are from xbmc library then u should run artwork downloader (under it's settings enable "use local files") to download the arwork u need(poster,thumb 16:9,clearart).Then you must be fine with PLTV.
That solved my issues,don't know if it will help you
