... Settings apply to low power os's (android, atv, ios, raspberry). Optimized pretty much means I disabled all the goodies to help PTVL run smoothly on those devices. Settings will be enforced no matter what you select, I included a override under "Misc" settings that will let you run your own configurations....And Bob's your uncle!
What is disable?* (XMLTV Parsing is slow because low power systems can't handle heavy regex parsing, Nulling the folder will allow PTVL to build LiveTV Channel just without EPG data).
- Enhanced Guide Data (AKA Find Missing Data), Disabled
Media Limit = 50
Art Service, Disabled
Show Season/Episode as S00E00, Disabled
Show Extra EPG Info, Disabled
Use Unaltered Channel Bug, True
Sync XMLTV Service, Disabled
XMLTV Folder Location, None*
Sickbeard/CouchPotato, Disabled
Losing EPG? Oh man.
I am fine with loosing everything else but not so sure about epg. I would rather have an option to update epg anytime of my choosing. Like a scheduler or something. That way I can update my xml file once a week and schedule pseudo to update the epg every sunday morning at 4:30 AM when it isn't being used. It can take two decades to update and I would not care since I most likely would be sleeping or up feeding the baby and dreaming about sleep .
If PTVL's, XML EPG, are breaks down, it kind of alienates all the low end computers users, the application was designed for. I'd like to see the whole of XBMC / OpenELEC, running on x86 thin clients. We can't all dedicate high end core systems, just to watch TV.
So, if we're going to lose EPG, it likely will be a short absents.
