This begs the question though - is such a development-intensive feature really worth the end result? Does it really matter if you get 30 seconds of a random video behind your guide as you first start the app up? These kinds of features are quite niche but take up a considerable amount of dev time and cause maintenance hell over the long run.
I'm all about adding features...but I agree lets not add features just to cover up fundamental problems
Some time down the road i'll add a channel guide with logos, but I have no plans to offer the guide as a startup channel, rather it will be a separate menu accessible via remote.
What I don't get... is if this is such a big issue... why not create channel 1 as a directory channel and point it to my included intro video... then set the startup channel to channel 1. this would guarantee first channel playback.
