[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution

So they are home videos taken from my phone. The issue is that they all appear sideways because of that so I need to find an easy solution to rotate the video 90 degrees or whatever it is to make them display correctly. Otherwise I'd have to watch them all with my head tilted. =)

Thanks

No easy way to do it in xbmc as far as I can tell. You will likely need to re-encode them or alter them outside of xbmc. Check out the link below:

OR you could just lay down sideways on your couch Wink

WTF, Hijacking much? The topic is PseudoTV Live!

I enabled Dynamic Artwork, for Channel Logo Folder I put the directory where all my logos are, and I checked Find Missing GuideData (Art/Info), after doing all those items I got back the artwork I had before upgrading to the latest version. Have you made sure the logo name is exact same as the channel, even making sure the characters are the same case (upper or lower)?

Gets to a certain channel and just...hangs. It's a PBS Kids Sprout based channel and it's always that channel (so far, it can't get past it)...so not sure what might be causing it. Any ideas on debugging? Removing all of the network channels let me get around this but it doesn't really address the reason WHY this happened. Bad data in the database, something else screwey, etc.

(I'm using a rooted FireTV, if that has any impact.)

Have you tried removing that one channel going into the 'Open Channel Configuration'? I had the same issue with a channel called 'Tokyo something (don't remember the exact name)' it would always just hang at that channel, and after removing that channel it never got stuck again.

I started from scratch in hopes everything would work itself out but now I can't even get logos to download and before I only had a few as it seems they never completely downloaded.

Edit: Just tested and tried putting in one logo I had from Milkman's post. Yay it works. But downloading still not working for me through PTVL. But now I can move forward at least. Thanks guys!

I already messaged Luna a heads-up last week that the links he's using for the logo download are dead. He may find an alternative sometime, but in the meantime you'll need to use Milkman's.
Logo Downloads isn't working right now.. Bandwidth issues... working on a better setup for logos.

Ahhhh that explains it. LOL. Thanks Luna! Loving the app more and more.

And thanks BankerBankson for the heads up!

Hijacking? I was wondering if you change it within PTVL.

What kind of channel is the PBS one? Is it a local channel, plugin, your own stream, or is it a community list channel?

It's a channel made up of videos from my library. When I had issues, I removed all plugins and other sources just to focus on local videos first. Removing the 'network' autotune type removed that channel from my list and it worked fine. I'd like to just determine what's causing the failure there so I know exactly how to fix it so it doesn't popup somewhere else.

EDIT: I'm almost positive it's a specific video that's causing the issue. I just had the same thing occur when I tried to add USTVNOW to the autotune. The channel that failed was again local videos from my library, but this time it was a 'Children's Genre' channel. My guess is that there's one (or more) videos that's causing this to occur and when the new channel 'listings' are generated, it selected the same video for the Children's Channel this time that caused the PBS Kids channel to fail last night.

Any ideas on how I can track this down? Somewhat stumped where to look since it's locking up the script but XBMC itself doesn't crash. (It just...sits there. Unable to cancel or do anything from the dialog where channels are 'filled'.)

EDIT2: Appears to be an FLV file that's causing the trouble...
I have the TWITCH.TV plugin but I can't figure out how to create a channel that is DOTA 2 only.

Any suggestions? Thanks! I was looking at channel 15 type but I'm not sure what or how to do it still.

What are you looking to use for logos? I know I was doing TV shows so I downloaded the hdclearlogo from fanart.tv. For TV stations, I had installed an app 'My Channel logos' to use with windows media center to provide the channel logos, and I used the logos that came with that for Pseudo TV Live. Not a free app, but I think it was like $5.

I also had a few issues running on the FTV. Make sure you have it set on Android ARM in settings. If you have any FTV questions shoot me a pm because I may have had to find the answer. I have been working through running PTVL on FTV for about 2 weeks straight.

Thanks Kalebbroo. The other, bigger issue I'm having is that after I run PTVL once it won't run again without restarting XBMC/Kodi. Basically, click it once and it starts fine. Click it again and it does nothing. Click it a third time, the 'loading optimized defaults' comes up, then XBMC crashes out and restarts.

For the FLV issue I think I know what it is. Appears some of the FLVs I have of a very old show (Reading Rainbow) are formatted incorrectly...so XBMC/PTVL may be choking on it. I may try to convert them, but going to just pull them from my library for now to confirm it's the issue.

Mostly network but most of them are included in Milkman's post and also thanks for the suggestions for tv shows 24/7 using hdclearlogo and suggesting the app. Others that I'm missing I'll just whip up in photoshop.
Been busy lately so I haven't had time to comment. The last few updates have been absolutely wonderful. Everything has "just" worked for me. I love it.

Which means now it's time to start breaking things, yes? ^_~

Actually, I just want to add on to the already working functionality. To that end I have some questions...

How do I get music videos to work with My Music TV plugin? I have a large collection scraped and in the library, but I can't seem to figure out how to add them to PseudoTV Live. The one time I simply added the whole thing as a directory it worked but was very ugly due to the popup running off the side with the address of the files and none of the information on the videos. There has to be a better way so I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the general direction of some guides and I'll try to study up on how to do it. Eventually I'd like to be able to have two "separate" libraries of music videos so I can have a general playlist and a church channel of just worship videos. Still trying to figure out a good way to build those given how little of that type is in the audiodb.

Secondly is there any danger in changing the channel of the shows scraped in my library for PTL? I mean like say Kokoro Library which claims to have aired on A&E--is there a reason I can't edit the channel to the 'Otaku Network' so PTL will see all my anime and load them in one channel? Is there a danger in doing this to the overall integrity of the library itself? What about shows still airing like Sailor Moon Crystal? Would doing this break future episodes as they're added or can I simply edit individual episodes as they come, no big deal?

On that last one, I assume your new Channel Manager will help but since it is currently Windows only and I do not have a Windows box in the house any more I'm trying to work around things.

Thanks for the wonderful work you've done here, as soon as I can afford it I'll definitely be donating again!

I change my tv shows and movies genre and channels name ect all the time for example I have mtv old that plays old mtv shows and giant monster movies plays Godzilla Cloverfield ect if it's a show that is still airing the new episodes will use the same genre, channels as the old.
I edited some Christmas logos for my channels. Most of them I found on google and changed a bit in photoshop. If anyone wants to use them you can check them out HERE.

Getting really close to finishing my channels tho I have never been able to get artwork/info to show
