Really? I have never noticed this red icon until installing PSTV. I have restarted XBMC over and over reset the FTV and just unplugged and replugged it in and it's still there. I am 100% positive that this volume icon was not there before the PSTV install as it initially shows up when using PSTV.

I think I'm close to having to just do a fresh install of XBMC now. This blows.

Try playing a movie and bringing up the on screen display. Once the display is up look for the audio icon (bottom right center icon) and try sliding the volume up and down to 0.0 db in the menu.

Since up-plugging my FTV, the red icon is still there, only now even after following your instructions Marshall, I'm at stage where there is now no sound. Regardless of how much it's turned up in both the volume amplification setting and the other setting while a movie/ video is being played. Volume is all the way on full in this mode and on my receiver, it is also up.

I don't know enough about how FTV is put together to be of much more assistance. I wouldn't try reinstalling XBMC at this point. If you do, you risk messing up the settings for your remote.
