A few of us were talking about issues with local artwork not being recognized and also not being retrieved from online sources for movies a few pages back. I am not sure if you saw those.
Here is a log: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6Pdr6Z...sp=sharing
My issues are that:
1) Local media and art reside on a samba shared nas, but although tv show artwork is retrieved from there movie artwork is not
2) artwork spooler is taking forever everytime there is background loading (up to 30 min)
3) at the end, the artwork spooler doesn't find any artwork for any of the movies
4) navigating through the epg is painfully slow, it takes a few seconds to move to the next item every time
In the log, you'll see some background loading, a really long spooling session and then me trying to navigate through the epg
Thanks
I have several Setups My HTPC used to Run great using PTVL because the Media was stored on the same machine. Then went out and got a couple of Android STB's took all my media and moved it to a NAS made by WD cloud and with using smb my HTPC running W7 it scans all the channels in its very slow and when changing channels its very slow and all my Android STB's get only 3 to 8 channels depending what mood PTVL is in. So I would conclude using a Network Drive under SMB PTVL doesn't like it.
Oh and my Ethernet is 1000 speed
Your conclusion is incorrect, All my media is stored through Samba and works great with PTVL.
I Cannot possibly test every Android & NAS device on the market, but I can assume with the little information you have provide me that:
A) Your HTPC devices are under powered for running PTVL or at least its current configuration.
B) Your NAS isn't up to par to run as a media server.
Having Gigabit hardware and actually running Gigabit are two different things, Either way the issues you're seeing aren't related to PTVL so much as your hardware and network.
