What am I doing wrong here, I am just trying to manually create my UPNP PlayOn channels and it keeps telling me to "Select Source" when I press OK .

What channel type should PlayOn Channels be ?

I cannot get it to work, I know this is vague but I dont even know where to start since it is not letting me select my PlayON UPnP source.

PseudoLive Channel Config > Pick the channel > Set type to UPnP or InternetTV ? > Browse to PlayOn UPnP > Selece ESPN > Select ESPN Live

then the channel config doesnt add it, very frustrating.

The only way I am able to add a PlayOn ESPN channel is be channel type local video > upnp > then selecting the show playing

These links change all the time and there has to be a better way to set it up

Playon Chtype 16 dropped, in favour of new plugin available from my repo "playonbrowser". Once installed, Chtype 15 "Plugin" will have a custom option for "Playon"

Well thank you for trying, believe it or not I'm not a complete moron. I am really good at reading documentation and troubleshooting but I do not even know where I am making a mistake and it seems the guides or suggestions I have found are dated.

I guess I will try LiveTV /InternetTV again

update:

Chtype Live TV
Source: Plugin
Browse: LiveTV > ESPN > ESPN LIVE > ESPN 1- NFL Show (currently Playing)

Save and open PTVL, go to the channel and it crashes PTVL

Go back into channel config and the Source and Browse Path are blank again

Not calling you a moron Just want users to search for the answer... you are not the first or the last to ask...

BTW I wouldn't use "LiveTV" it chtype requires xmltv listing data (unless you happen to have a matching listing for that channel). Otherwise use InternetTV.

I am a schedulesdirect customer and have an XMLTV grabber running on my linux box, however I didnt think that was how I should setup this ESPN channel or any channel. When I do try to select the specific channel in the channel configuration PTVL crashes, if I leave it at the parent directory it works but shows all the channels in the guide under that channel ESPN1, ESPN2, NEWS, Deportes etc.

Last October I attempted to setup XMLTV with PlayON for PTVL and was told it would not work that way, but seems there are different options now. I just do not know what they are or how to implement them.

I went ahead and donated for your time but I might just rack the idea, I really like the idea of having a guide for the wife and kids to click through but I have spent a lot of time trying to get it set up with minimal success.
