[OLD/CLOSED] PseudoTV Live - Set-Top box solution
This is a fun program and I love it, but it was too unstable for me to use (on Mac 32 bit Snow Leopard). This could be because I have hundreds of files, resulting in an autochannel of over 80 channels. Specifically:

1. Once I entered the program guide, I was dead. I could move around in the guide but that's all. Selecting a channel did nothing, trying to exit did nothing. Didn't even try to use Sickbeard or Couchpotato

2. For me; exiting the program results if a complete freeze of Kodi. So dead that only a "kill" command recovered. I've had to uninstall it.

Feedback:

1. Have an option to remove the video playing in the corner of the guide. That will help responsiveness on lower-end systems. Display a thumbnail instead.

2. My sickbeard use SSL/https. I don't know if that matters to you since I wasn't able to test it.

3. Out of the 80+ channels auto-built, only 10 appeared on the guide. Trying to move beyond the list just moved me back to the top.

4. Pressing a show not yet "airing" did nothing. It should bring up the detailed show info

5. I am unsure why you are asking for a region location. While I am located in the USA, I have a large foreign TV collection. My "region" setting should not exclude them from the guide (if that's how it's used). There was no option for being "global"; the programs forces a geo location selection".

6. For me this was very sluggish. A channel change took 15 seconds. Guide presses took a few seconds.

If you have a version that doesn't lock up my Kodi I've love to use this.

I appreciate your feedback, but I use PseudoTV Live daily on all three tv's in my house.... PTVL runs 24/7 without issues...

Now I understand everyone's setups are dramatically different... So i've spent a number of days rewriting core components to tweak performance... IMO you have two choices if you wish to use PseudoTV Live.
Wait for v.0.6.6 to see if that fixes your performance issues... or provide a log for me to review... simply telling me something is slow, can't possible resolve the issue.

latest iteration running great, did a complete reinstall of helix and pseudo, cleared up all problems. will be uping to Isengard to keep up with for my skin... GREAT JOB, every upgrade seem significant, Thanks mucho again Smile
Hi guys. Looking for a little help. I have 2 PCs runinng Kodi in my house, 1 on Helix and Windows 10 running PseudoTv just fine, the other I just upgraded to 10, and now PseudoTv just gets stuck on Initializing. I let it run overnight even to make sure it wasn't just taking a while. Tried running it in compatibility mode, running as administrator, tried Isengard and Helix, still just Initializing. Checked the log and had this error-

ERROR: EXCEPTION Thrown (PythonToCppException) : -->Python callback/script returned the following error<--

Any ideas of what I need to do?

EDIT: Tried copying over my settings2.xml from my other machine and started it up and it ran fine. So now the question is, why?
Quick question. Does PTVL use the runtime of the EPISODE or the THVSHOW itself? I ask because I have a tv series (History Channel Documentaries) that have episodes with vastly varying runtimes. I'm looking to make my tv scheduling a bit more accurate, perhaps by scripting in the correct runtimes to the episode's .nfo files.

Thanks.
I used the extended info script as suggested in one of the initial posts to great effect in the past to ensure that all available artwork was being seen and integrated into the library, but it appears that the program has changed and no longer has this function (or maybe it isn't even the same program just one with the same name?) Is there a way to get that same ability in a different program?

After poking around a bit I'm not sure if it was extended info or not, but I do recall that it was something I installed along with PTVL. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Artwork Downloader?
No, the addon I'm thinking of had been abandoned (but still working on github) and had an explicit option to take all the artwork from the artwork downloader addon and integrate it into the library, so if your skin didn't see it at first, now it would after you ran the other addon.

Milhouses texture tool?

post 10000 wow
First, great addon! I'm having a lot of fun with it.

I am having one problem though. I can't get the "change aspect ratio" key to work in PseudoTV Live. Instead, that same key toggles the sleep timer. Does PseudoTV Live not support changing the aspect ratio during playback?

The function works fine if I go into my Kodi library and play the file from there and press the key, but if I press it from within PseudoTV Live it toggles sleep timer instead.

Other keys like pause, information, etc work fine in both Kodi library and the addon.

edit:
Having a similar keymapping type issue with the OK button on the remote opening the guide instead of video options. I can't find anything about how to change key mappings for this tool

edit2:
Ok ignoring the last two questions, is there any way to force a specific aspect ratio for a given channel? The main thing I'm trying to accomplish is to stretch my Simpsons channel to 16x9 while leaving other 4:3 content with black bars. Or, a button to toggle the aspect ratio would also be acceptable.

Milhouses texture tool?
I can't seem to find anything different, but from what I do read it seems that is an external tool, run from the command line. The script I'm remembering ran from within Kodi. (Or does Milhouse's texture tool run within Kodi also and the command line usage is either optional/extended explanation of how it works?)
Sorry if this has been answered before but I am getting the following error message: Pseudo Guide Data Update Failed
This happens as soon as I enable PTVL.
This is happening on 4 computers all have Windows 10, Isengard 15.0 and PTVL 6.5c. Any suggestions appreciated.
Hey guys, does anyone know why I can't change my background updating setting to off? I have small kids and some of my channels aren't appropriate for my kids ('sega' movie channels for example) but because PTV hasn't finished parsing them I can't turn it right away to Nickelodeon or something. I don't mind waiting a minute for everything to load so "use last channel" works as expected. I can change the setting is PTV Live but when I launch it, the setting seems to revert itself.

My setup is as follows:

Kodibuntu 64bit Isengard
3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
6GB RAM
Radeon HD 4350 PCI-e Graphics Card
Live TV provided by HDHomerun Prime

As you can see my setup is plenty powerful enough for this so I'm not thinking I am tripping any compatibility things like I would be if I were on a Raspberry Pi or something. I can grab a log if needed, but I don't think it is a bug so much as something I am ignorant of.
Might be something I'm missing (don't see any mention about this on the last few pages), but on a computer I use OpenELEC (32-bit build; not certain on Kodi version, but it's behind the latest OpenELEC's release) and PseudoTV lite either updated or tried to update and mentioned something about incompatibility.

And just a little bit ago after installing Kodi fresh on Fedora 22, I can't install PseudoTV (Lite and Live, and anything under Programs for the repo show as incompatible/broken).
