I started using Zap2XML when Microsoft switched to from Zap2it to Rovi. Zap2XML pulls it's data directly from Zap2it instead of using Microsoft's legacy service to pull the exact same data. I love mx2xml and I still use it to grab data for my UK channels but with the new semester starting next week, twenty bucks is a lot for me right now.
Sidenote: If you using Zap2XML with Linux, you need to use the perl file and make sure to install/update your TimeDate package from the Perl package manager.
Just tried zap2xml (on windows) and getting the same problem.
edit: Figured it out. Switched the encoding to UTF-8
