Win TV Season Posters Not Showing Up
#1
Hi there,

I've got a minor problem but it's driving me nuts: TV Season Posters aren't now showing up for me and I can't figure out why.

I'm running XBMC Frodo v12.2 with Aeon Nox v4.0.9 on a Windows 8 64-bit system.

Here's my log data:

[edit] Your debug xbmc.log: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=40377
[edit] Your XBMC crashlog: http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=40378

When I click TV from the main screen, I can see the general poster artwork (which I assume is pulled from the poster.jpg file).
Note: Using Showcase view.

Selecting a TV show, shows the Season folders, but no season poster artwork shows up.
Note: Using Showcase view.

Similarly, when a season is selected, no season artwork is displayed. Instead it just shows the general poster artwork again.
Note: Using List view.

I've had very little trouble scraping and I'm pretty sure my file structure is setup as it should be:

TV Shows
|
---/TV Show 1/
|
---/extrafanart
---/Season 1/
---/Season 2/

I just can't figure out why I'm having this problem with the season posters. So far I've tried a couple things I read about other people doing with some success.

1. I exported my library and manually copied the Season Posters (seasonx.jpg) file over to the top level directory of a show (ex . ---/TV Show 1/ ). This didn't work.
2. I also tried renaming the poster artwork file a number of different ways: Season1.jpg, season01.jpg, Season1-Poster.jpg, season1-poster.jpg, season01-poster, etc. Nothing.
2. I also tried copying a number of other season-specific files over from what I found here http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Add...Filenaming. Again, nothing.

I have no idea why I'm having this problem or how to fix it, but I love having a pristine library so I'd really appreciate any help you guys can provide.

Please let me know if you need any other information from me.

Thanks!

I apologize....don't think I included the correct log information before. Should be right/fixed now though.

Found a solution to my problem in an older forum post here: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=153817

Figured I'd post the solution in case anyone else is having problems:

1. Open the Artwork Downloader script (from Add-ons).
2. Make sure "Season Posters" are selected to be downloaded.
3. Make sure "Use Local Files" is enabled.
4. Run it.

Rebooted XBMC and my problem was solved Smile

Glad you found a solution, but you really shouldn't need to use Artwork Downloader for this when you have the artwork already stored locally - the native scrapers should find and use them (TMDB scraper certainly does).

I name my season artwork "season01-poster.jpg", "season02-poster.jpg" etc. with all season artwork in the root of each show. Episode thumbs (which would be inside each "Season X" folder) I name "Castle S01E01-thumb.jpg" etc.

So...
Code:
Castle
\-- Season 1
    \-- Castle S01E01.mkv
    \-- Castle S01E01-thumb.jpg
    \-- Castle S01E02.mkv
    \-- Castle S01E02-thumb.jpg
    ...
\-- Season 2
    \-- Castle S02E01.mkv
    \-- Castle S02E01-thumb.jpg
    ...
\-- season01-poster.jpg
\-- season02-poster.jpg
\-- season-all-poster.jpg
\-- season-specials-poster.jpg
\-- tvshow.nfo
