Linux Issues with Frodo 12.2 and 23.97Hz
#1
Hi,

i've recently upgraded my XBMC installation from Eden to current Frodo 12.2. XBMC which runs on an up to date 64 Bit Gentoo with Kernel 3.9.9 and nvidia drivers 325.08. Sound is played via optical SPDIF to a 5.1 surround receiver, XBMC is configured to use this device for normal and paththrough output.

Since i've upgraded i run into major issues with some of my 1080p bluray rips with 23.97Hz. Some run absolutely fine and smooth, audio is also fine, some others show stuttering sometimes and especially audio output is asynchronous. I've adapted my xorg.conf to that posted in this tutorial, also all my XBMC settings are exactly as posted there.

Here is a full debug log: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=42528

First i've started "Back to Future 2" which is stuttering and has a huge audio delay...after that i've started "Back to Future", this movie runs smoothly and is in sync...and both are played with correct 23.97Hz.

With Eden i had absolutely no issues with 1080p movies, they all ran fine...my HW is also powerful enough (nvidia GT430 graphics card), so it has to be a onfiguration issue, may be in conjunction with the new audio engine?!

Here a link to a edid.bin info from my Philips LCD TV which is connected directly via HDMI to my graphics card: http://www.xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=42529

Any ideas? Any help is apprechiated Confused

Cheers Louis

PS: speeding up or slowing down audio during playback shows strange effects...audio sync is getting worser, independend if i configure speeding up or slowing down. Maybe this feature isn't working because of paththrough?
