Kernel Panic - Not Syncing: How to reset?
#1
Hey, newbie user here, so bear with me...
I have a Raspberry Pi running Raspbmc. I increased the speed in settings to "super" (overclocking? I thought the custom options were safe), and it sine has not rebooted. I tried powering down/up, and I get the message: Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(179,2) Just seems like the RPi freezes on that screen, and I cannot seem to get to the commands while holding down the Shift Button.
At this point I just want a complete reboot/refresh; how can this be accomplished using a mac?

Pop the SD card into your mac and you should be able to edit the overclocking settings in the config.txt file. I've never overclocked a Pi myself, so I'm not sure what exactly you'd need to change, but there are tons of helpful info all over the internet about the config.txt file and raspberry pi, etc.
