Problem: No audio when playing 1080p h.264 video with 2 channel adpcm_ima_wav audio. Video is okay. Audio on other videos (mp4, 3gp(?)) is okay. Audio on music files is okay.
Using Ubuntu Trusty 14.04 with XBMC 13.1 Gotham. Followed instructions in first article in this thread regarding additional/alternative packages to install. Have tried both standard 3.13 and referenced in this thread 3.15 kernel with same result. Using SPDIF/TosLink output to external d/a that is only 2 channel capable.
Problem most likely related to this message at line 1699 in the xbmc log pastebin linked below:
ffmpeg[3F7FE700]: [adpcm_ima_wav] Only 4-bit ADPCM IMA WAV files are supported
These videos played ok using the deprecated xvba XBMC + fglrx on Ubuntu Raring. Since the videos were made with a common digital still camera (Casio) I would expect there to be many such videos out in the wild. Hope this limitation will be fixed soon.
Pastebins (taken while running 3.13 kernel):
dmesg: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7827003/
xbmc: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7827010/
Xorg.0.log: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7827011/
vdpauinfo: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7827013/
dpkg -l: http://paste.ubuntu.com/7827021/
Playback of the failing video starts at line 1659 in the xbmc log pastebin.
