If you want Netflix, you'll want Win8, not Win7, so you can use the Metro app to get Dolby Digital+ and SuperHD, which are not available via the browser.
.... except you can't get DD+ since Intel fubar'd the driver. Intel has finally acknowledged the problem & is working on a fix. Win8 does take a lot of configuring to shut off all the stupidity (i.e., Metro), but once you do the fast boot can't be beat.
Netflix has never supported linux, which is a shame since I'd rather run OE. I used to watch Netflix on a virtualbox session on my Ubuntu desktop -- which wasn't ideal.
A while back I did a write up on getting Netflix working under Linux (https://communities.intel.com/community/...w-i-did-it). It's doable but you're not going to get HD audio or video.
