When I'm connecting via 802.11n (2.4GHz), everything works almost perfectly, with occasional buffering. I can almost live with that.
However, trying to use 802.11ac (5GHz) is not so nice. I connect, but the NUC will freeze up/stutter and I can't play videos. Is this a 7260 card problem? NUC problem? Openelec problem? Unknown problem?
802.11n over 2,4 GHz will still be pretty limited when it comes to throughput, you won't have support for the full 4x4:4 802.11n spec. Your router might do 3x3 (but it would need to be an expensive router to do that), but your NUC will probably do 2x2 only (if even that).
In theory, even 802.11n is plenty. But then again, it's wireless. Nobody ever said that was reliable.
