However, the xbox360 media remote doesn't power on the unit, but the normal rc6 one does. Can't understand why! I much prefer the click feel of the 360 remote!!

I didn't know the Xbox360 had a power button on the remote, to be honest. There is a way you can test by running a command through the CLI and check to see what button appears when you press it, but I can't remember where I saw it or how to do it. If you can figure that out, then it's possibly that the Xbox360 power button is mapped differently. (If you're talking about the Xbox button, then this is mapped differently than a regular power button).
