How about posting a debug log of the issue?
With this files When I do a big step forrward/backward the video freezes for several seconds, it's quite annoying. Anyone knows how to fix it or can suggest me a right video configuration?
Thanks!!!

I run my files over a wired lan (not wireless) but I have the same problem with my own recorded Tv Shows in the internal mSATA drive.
nickr, I've posted a debug for you in another post several days ago. Can you take a look?

I'm not very good with selecting debug code but I can make a video if it is useful.
Kind regards, and thanks again.
setup: i5 with openElec alpha(feb.2014)
i had this Problem With WMV HD file ... 3 GB file size over a Gigabit ethernet link from my NAS every seek -> 1-3sec waiting ...
after a re-encoding to h.264 no problems ... mkv (with h.264 / mpeg4) also no problems
PS: 20GB 4K movie files over network (h264) no problems with a delay or anything ... just smooth and instant
