did you check the codepage of your nas? do yo know it? xbmc default's to ascii wich may be very wrong.. if it get's names wrong you probably have the wrong codepage set.
verify what codepage you have set on your nas if possible. or make an educated guess. ex. set xbmc to latin1 under smb settings in gui.
