Zotac ID18 or ID42 for XBMCbuntu
#1
Hi everynone, my first post.
I'm running openelec on a Raspery Pi, but wanted to upgrade my system to serve other home member and also keep the sytem to run my books library (via Calibre).
After some search I end with two options:
Zotac ZBox ID18 (for 160€) or ID42 (for 250 €).
The ID18 is based on an Inten HD2500 graphics card, while the ID42 has a NVIDIA Geforce GT610.
Clearly looks the devoted graphic card in the ID42 should be better, but I'm not sure how much GPU power XBMC will require to run, so not sure the extra +90€ is worth to spend.
On the other hand the CPU seems to be better for the ID18 (newer model) running at higher frequency (1.5 Ghz vs 1.1 Ghz for the ID42) so for the rest of the non-graphical use (mainly Calibre) the ID18 looks to be better equiped, at a lower price.

My plan is to install XBMCbuntu and run through a SDD hardrive.

Thanks in advance for your views.

For comparison, I recently put together an HTPC with the following hardware:

CPU: Intel Atom D2550 1.86 GHz Dual-Core
Video: NVIDIA GeForce GT 610
Mainboard: ZOTAC D2550-ITX WiFi Supreme [D2550ITXS-B-U]
