I have a dedicated Windows 8 box hooked up to my TV running XBMC.

I'm just wondering, is there any way to open up a browser (preferably Chrome) through XBMC so that I can surf the net without having to leave XBMC?

You could try Advanced App Launcher along with the Kylo browser (kylo.tv)
