The stats info involves querying the gpu for the current media time. Talking to the gpu is a little expensive (but fine for ~100 call per second).

One more question, is it possible to extract and play ac3 core from TrueHD at playback? As workaround I need to extract core and remux.

PS. Hope multichannel PCM and HD (DTS-MA & TrueHD) passthrough will come soon.
