Strange! I'm using a Samsung UE55F8005 SmartTV and it's very similar. I've been using my RPi connected directly to tv and haven't had any issues.

I must have: (in config.txt)

hdmi_ignore_cec_init=1
hdmi_force_hotplug=1

Otherwise CEC will fail if tv is powered off when I reboot RPi.
I don't know if these settings are still required but I have had them for a couple of months now.
