Intel NUC - Bay Trail (Celeron Generation CPU) - DN2820FYKH
I downloaded the TrueHD 7.1 video from demo world and my Yamaha receiver showed Dolby TrueHD and the sound traveled around all of the speakers. I only have 5.1 but it blended the extra 2 rears into the rears. I would say that it plays TrueHD.

I also downloaded DTS HD trailer and it also lit up the DTS-HD on the Yamaha receiver.

Hope that answers it.

Anyone know how to test the 24.976 bug? Is there a video I can download and can you describe what to look for?

That's good news. If I recall correctly, I think the other poster was saying that he couldn't get DTS-HD passthrough to work in Win 8.1. Curious if that's still unresolved and if so, if/when that will get fixed.

Yep, still unresolved. I'm hoping the intel rep here can help.. but I suppose things take time. Shrug!

I loaded the Keymap file for the MCE Remote and programmed my Harmony 700. It powered on the NUC and it is controlling the NUC so the IR is working as well.

1. CPU Mark : 1083
2. 2D Graphics Mark 232.1
3. 3D Graphics Mark : 132.6
4. Memory Mark : 695
5. Disk Mark : 1739 (512 GB Micron SSD)

Is that good or bad ?

The 1007U is better with 1450 CPU Mark Score: http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=...Hz&id=1847

Updated to latest bios 21 from 15. Got latest gotham build to boot (the installer only, haven't tried live) and installed openelec just fine on my SSD. I had to use rear usb and legacy boot only to make it work. I am not sure why other people are having issues with openelec? Only problem I have is audio pass thru is missing but I think removing pulse audio might fix it.

Something must be wrong with the benchmarknumbers considering the N2820 is 0.9 GHz faster clockwise
Reply
Atom CPUs are also faster clockwise, but due to an different Architecture they are slower than 847U Celeron.

as another comparision point, asus t100 (1.3ghz z3740 bay trail quad core) scores 1062 cpu mark, same architecture, twice the cores but half ghz.

Can somebody tell if the NUC with the celeron n2820 can play 3d (frame packing) adequatelyHuh

Picked up the latest build and I've tried legacy booting it. Seems to install, but then I'm being told there's no boot device on startup. Bleh. Sad

Are you saying that the built in IR can power the NUC on from being off?

Erm. Yeah! That's pretty much standard fare with CIR!

Thank you for running the tests. From this we find that this chip is slightly faster than the Celeron 847 found in the DCCP847DYE NUC

Celeron 847 had a 2D Graphics Mark around 150.

The Celeron NUC was very popular on this forum before, so this does make an interesting alternative because of the in-built IR sensor. Also it uses less power.

2D 1080p playback, and 3D SBS obviously won't be a problem. Will have to wait and see if it can do Hi10P and Frame Packed 3D.

Quick question guys - would 2 GB RAM be enough to run Openelec ?
