Unfortunately from what I've been told you have to have UEFI enabled when you install Windows 8.1. I may be wrong but it may require a fresh Windows install with UEFI on in the bios. I was fortunately that I had UEFI and Legacy both enabled when I installed, so I just had to turn Legacy off to get HDMI audio.
I believe they're working on a BIOS update to change this but I don't know when that will be released.
