Win7 Gotham B2 - Video OSD timeout?
#1
I've noticed that in the video player full screen or windowed, the OSD will show for 8 seconds after the last remote click.

Is it possible to change that to a lower number with an xml file or is it hard coded into the program.

Good question. Doesn't seem to be any corresponding setting listed in the wiki for the advancedsettings file, at least that I saw. Would be nice if this were configurable, since I also do not care for the longer duration we see now.

It's hardcoded to 3 seconds after the mouse pointer vanishes (mouse is set to inactive) if you're using the mouse.

It's doesn't otherwise close unless you tell it to.

Ah, ok. Now I notice the mouse pointer is only present on the screen for the first show that is played. Any subsequent shows that are started I don't even see the OSD at all, other than the progress bar in the upper right portion of the screen. The OSD stuff at the bottom of the screen is no longer shown at all at the start of playback if I haven't touched the mouse, and have only been using my remote.

Is this (still) true for Kodi 15/alpha? particularly on Linux? has an xml override setting hopefully crept into advancedsettings.xml?

If not, can you point to where in source that setting hides? I build from source, so can change before a build if I know where it is.

of maybe a feature to get added?
