Linux XBMC is not starting when using upstart script on Ubuntu 14.04
#1
I just installed xbmc on a fresh Ubuntu 14.04 install.
I followed instructions from official install page.

XBMC works great but upstart script is not working (XBMC does not start : I land on lightgdm where I can click on the XBMC user to launch the interface)

For the record, I created the /etc/init/xbmc.conf file with the correct content (and the correct user, xbmc, which I created).
I also changed the /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config to "anybody".

I think it may be about Ubuntu 14.04...

Any idea ?

the upstart script is _not_ for full desktop installs. If you have lightdm, then use the xbcm session from the login screen.

Ok. I fixed my problem by removing /etc/init/lightdm.conf.
Now xbmc is starting alone. :-)

oh god ...
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.
