Edit: Well, in the same time i have - forgive the expression - a shitload of spare hdd i can throw in a usb enclosure. I don't see no reasons for it not to work but a green light would help here
I suppose so, as long as you don't mind the drive being re-partitioned/re-formatted. However, in my experience, spinning platter drives often don't power up and initialize quickly enough, certainly not in the 500ms max expected for a USB flash drive
