for displayport i just select DP1 right? that is definitely selected. i don't get the output waviness issue that occurs randomly. i thought perhaps it could be a settings issue. the audio, that is only being outputted to one device and i have to go in and select/change the audio. with displayport all audio outputs work no problem for regular DTS/Dolby but it seems the displayport cable will not pass on and HD audio options, switch to hdmi and it is no problem.
the audio i can live with because my receiver upstairs doesn't support hd audio anyways, so i can use that with the DP adaptor and the hdmi output to downstairs. but the waviness on the picture that occurs randomly drives me nuts. i began to think it could be some type of interference with bad shielding on the adaptor or if there was a certain setting i may need to change.
i'm not even trying to output sound or video to both displays at once, one is always shut off when the other is in use.
I haven't used DP for audio and don't have a HDMI/HD audio capable receiver, so I can't speak to that unfortunately - sorry =(
