Hi everyone... i really need your help here and i just hope someone with more experience will guide me to solve my problem. I just got an HP chromebox (celeron model) off eBay, hoping that i will turn it into a KODI box, but i'm unable to disable the hardware write protection... i removed the screw, cleaned the contacts and everything looks great and contacts are clean and far apart, but the script still says that can't run because the hardware write protection is still enabled. What am i doing wrong here? Please people, help!!!!

^^ thanks for all your help yesterday, but I need to know... Am i supposed to take my chromebox out of developer mode after I verify that the dual boot works correctly? if so how do I do this?
because I am using Kodi, and it does not give me the same file options as I am seeing in some tutorial videos. I feel like I am missing options "enable add on" or "update"

The OP is amazing! Quick question - for somebody with no NAS or other PC, would it be unwise to waste money on a big SSD (250/500GB) for one of these (standalone)? Or possibly a 128GB SD card (boot from SD option)?
I'm pretty sure I could survive on that little of space since I don't keep stuff for long. Just would be nice to have a fully self-sufficient setup, but would also suck to spend the extra money and have it not work.
I tried searching this but wasn't getting any luck.

Hi,
Just tried the latest (0615) version of Matt's ROM.
I can boot external USB (I'm using Fedora 22, which works), but the big problem is that I cannot boot the internal SSD, it shows me a line (which I can't read - too quick), and then the keyboards being reset and the screen turns off.
Also, no more Chrome boot screen (the one graphics with the exclamation mark).
I tried to create the recovery image using Google's tool on an SD card, powered off the ChromeBox (it's ASUS ChromeBox with the Celeron U2955), pushed the reset button with power on, again - got the ROM message about the latest but no graphics at all, and after pressing ESC and selecting the SD I get the exact behavior as selecting the internal SSD.
Suggestions? (I already tried to update the firmware using Matt's script, and it tells me I got the latest),
