Linux ChromeBox Kodi E-Z Setup Script (LibreELEC/Linux+Kodi) [2017/02/21]
I just wanted to extend a very sincere "Thank you!" to the developer for all the time and effort invested in the SeaBIOS, OpenELEC, and this forum.

The finished product is nothing short of astonishing, and the instructions/procedures during "the build" were excellent.

I just wrapped up my third standalone Chromebox build (1 Asus & 2 Dells), and I thought a few things were worth posting about.

- On my Asus Chromebox I found the bottom panel difficult to grip for removal...thread two of the included VESA mounting screws into their respective holes on the bottom panel; lift. Easy access to the write-protect screw. No prying necessary.

- On the first Dell Chromebox I kept getting a blank screen after booting from USB and choosing "Run Installer"...followed Matt's advice about using an HDMI cable instead of a DisplayPort cable; I was then able to view the next screen and choose "Quick Install". Thanks Matt!

- On the second Dell Chromebox, I removed the write-protect screw, but I kept getting an error that the hardware write-protection was still enabled...followed Matt's forum advice about checking for excess copper on the circuit board at the former location of the write-protect screw; sure enough, there was a small copper "bridge" still connecting the two copper contacts where the write-protect screw had been. If you encounter this problem and you have access to an ohm meter (volt meter), just lightly scrape away the excess copper until your meter reads zero continuity across the two copper contacts. The copper "bridge" on this Dell was on the edge of the circuit board (would've been facing the threads of the write-protect screw, when installed) and was kind of a pain to remove. But, thanks to Matt, I knew exactly what to do (again).

Great job! Seriously.

Respectfully,

Mark
