I put the tar file in /storage/.update folder and rebooted as per the procedures
Do I need to reimage my Chromebox and what is the best procedure?
Is this a common problem with the Chromebox or OpenElec?
I was having problems with some of my plugins so I just upgraded OpenElec first and ran into these problems.
Given that OpenELEC 6.0.1 was released less than 48 hours ago, I doubt there are many ChromeBox users running it, since most are using the Intel-EGL build from fritsch which will not auto-update (and you don't want to since you'd lose the EGL benefits). I haven't tested it yet since I have no intention of running it - instead I'll be releasing an updated Intel-EGL build with the 6.0.1 updates rolled in.
In the meantime, you can either downgrade to the previous version you were running via the same method you upgraded, or simply do a hard reset from the OpenELEC/General settings, which is effectively the same as a clean install
well I upgraded to 6.0 a while back and it upgraded to 6.0.1 automatically
OK I'll try looking for the vsync option (and see what it is currently) - how does this effect the unresponsiveness of the app and things like pausing/stop besides the onscreen things?
EDIT: I look forward to instructions on how to update to 6.0.1 the MattDevo way and I guess I'll have to backup my settings and manually put them back in or will it keep all of my configs?
