I think that depends on how much you think you'll use the ChromeOS side of things (and for what) vs how much of a pain you'll find it to reboot and use keyboard shortcuts to select between the two OSes. I use/recommend the standalone OE setup, and don't even have a keyboard connected (just IR remote), but not everyone's use case is the same
I'm thinking about reinstalling fresh standalone when I upgrade to either kodi 16 or 17
