Your setting "Always boot from USB" changes the order of the devices connected.
And there's no way to change this order without reflashing, am I right?
Sad but true.
It would be very convenient: if you insert an SD-card with OpenElec - it boots, if no - Windows boots from the internal SSD. And an external HDD connected in the both cases
