well first off, I wouldn't recommend that model - it's 2-3 generations old, and more expensive than a current model. It also has an inferior GPU, though the quad-core CPU is no slouch.
that said, it is supported by the Kodi E-Z Setup Script, though only in standalone configuration (it doesn't have the capability to dual boot). The usage of the script is the same, though the process for putting it in Developer Mode and disabling the firmware write-protect is different (see this link)

Looking at the link above i can only boot an linux image for a USB Flashdrive is this correct ?
I do not have to mod the chromebox apart from sliding the switch to go into developer mode ?

If i resell the chromebox and buy another what would you recommend ?
