Try another port, worst case you can always pull the SSD and see if that forces the USB to be detected / to boot(2021-09-01, 05:57)Matt Devo Wrote:(2021-09-01, 03:35)knives of ice Wrote: I've had this chromebox sitting around for years unused after loading kodi standalone on it. is there a way to load windows 10 on it? i know i read articles about that in the past but I have no idea how to do it if kodi is already instatalled. any guides?

TLDR:
* boot Linux from USB (ubuntu, eg)
* run my Firmware Utility Script
* install/update UEFI firmware
* reboot
* install Windows from USB
* install Speedfan and set to auto mode, set to run on startup
This is a great guide, but I went out and bought 2 brand new 32gb usb sandisk thumb drives, successfully wrote ubuntu to usb with etcher and there is no option hitting escape to boot to the usb. it boots directly to kodi every time. i've tried 2 usb thumb drives so no idea what i'm doing wrong. thanks
