Using a remote over the internet - no LAN
#1
Good afternoon,

I'm trying to make Yatse work with XBMC 13.

After having followed all the necessary steps to set XBMC to allow remote control, I cannot make Yatse connect to XBMC.

That's the configuration:
- XBMC is installed on a Win7 64bit laptop connected to the internet through an internet key;
- Yatse is installed on my Android smartphone, connected via the carrier's network.

I have no availability of wi-fi and/or LAN connection.

The problem is that Yatse asks me for an IP and a port, and even if I write the informations I get from XBMC (both under Services or System Info), it doesn't recognize the server.

I've used 80 and 8080 ports.

Do you think it's a matter of ports or whatever? Anyone else ever tried to configure the server same way as mine?

Thanks in advance for the help.

Why not try wifi hotspot in your android phone and connect the laptop to it? Then you can control xbmc from the remote.
