hdmi loses connection when tv and avr put to standby
#1
Hi,

Recently upgraded to 14.04 and running xbmc 13.1

I am finding that if I turn the samsung tv (f8000) to standby and the yamaha avr (rx-471) also for the evening
when I turn them back on I get the piano picture from the avr, which is there due to no signal from the media player (i3, hdmi from intel chip).

If I hit the power button one the xbmc box, the signal returns and I see the shutdown.

I was wondering if there was a way (without shutting down) to get the signal back, or to stop it losing it.

Thanks.

Thanks Teeedub.

Its a lot more complex than I hoped.
I did not have this problem prior to the 14.04 upgrade, so I guess its a new 'feature'
I will keep reading, but most appear to be for nvidia.

Turns out it was a problem with upgrading to 14.04
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...ug/1308105
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?i...ttach_5681

Can some give noob instructions on how to apply this patch?

I have disabled xfsettingsd and this fixes the issue, but makes the ubuntu display look weird Smile

Thanks
