If you need any testing I have a mx2 running openelec. Good luck with this exciting project enen92
Just keep up the good work and know that everyone acknowledges the effort!
enen92, you are the man...
It's looking good despite my shitty ability to record videos, my laptop loosing pieces and the shitty song I forgot to mute Smile

Yap with your rom Smile But the engine and the service proxy is running on arch linux on the laptop, all built-in. Is similar to upnp but using the json rpc api of kodi since upnp is not exposed to python. It works that's all that really matters Smile
nice to see the box still working fine Wink
hmm i see this in windows is going to be a problem...
Looking really nice indeed...
There`s me thinking it was just going to be a simple name change,lol..I should`ve known better with you!!.Plexus looks very impressive & I`m willing & available for testing if needed. Smile

That looks good, is it the laptop that is doing p2p stuff and then sending the video to the tv kodI?

Is it possible to have it work in reverse so that the stream is selected from the tv and the laptop starts downloading it and auto sends it, like having a client server setup so there is one dedicated box for doing the downloading?
Yap the acestream engine is running on the laptop and feeding (proxying it using an http proxy service to be more precise to the remote Kodi player). The goal of this is of course to do what you suggest. But that requires a TCP proxy as well so the remote plexus can connect and exchange information with the engine running on the plexus "server". So this is basically the first step to accomplish that.
Once the stream is ready the TCP proxy sends the http proxy endpoint URL to the client, the client connects to it and receives the stream. Unfortunately all the ports are locked to the localhost hence all this hassle to just exchance information.

Enen it looks like your laptops been run over by a truck lol!!
Exciting news mate , especially the pvr stuff....will definitely be checking it out when its available.

Mac, Pi and Pi2 ready for testing (if supported lol)
All will mate even ipad. However, some might only act as clients for the main one. This laptop is a war machine and has a lot of heating issues hence I open it regularly. I always think it has come with to many screws Tongue

hah...all the big manufacturers always throw a few 'spare' screws in !

Quick question...sorry if already covered....
Will the 'server' be able to serve more than one stream? eg two different streams to two different clients at the same time? or am i taking the piss?
No the aengine can only handle one request and it's locked down to the machine it is running (and if they Support it). The goal of plexus is more to overcome this last part turning the addon in a client -server. So if there is an engine for the platform (e.g. windows, OSX, linux and Android) the addon can be a server for the addon running on platforms not supported (e.g. linux arm, ios). With Kodi team working on a server client implementation and the ability to run (in the future) Kodi headless to centralize your media changing this addon to this kind of implementation can open a lot of possibilities. In a distant future you'll have Kodi headless running on your linux based NAS and serving media (and in this case p2p live content) to any other Kodi client. Serving media, PVR, games (retroplayer)....
The future is quite bright for Kodi to be honest.
