I simply want to use Netflix and XBMC streams and have 1080p wherever possible? Any insight or tips that would help me decide, I am also in Canada. Thanks!

Chromebox:
- Netflix HD is available in a single boot configuration via a Chrome web browser so long as you do not run Openelec. Choose - Ubuntu, Windows etc. Netflix can be launched and controlled with a remote via the XBMC add-on NetfliXBMC. Newbies unfriendly this method.

Can't run Windows on this. Audio over HDMI is broken in Windows on this box and there is no fix in the near future. So, I guess if you want Netflix HD, then you would have to dual boot Chrome & OpenElec? I'm not sure if Ubuntu fully works on this.

Chrome OS + OpenElec dual boot
Ubuntu standalone with XBMC/Kodi
Ubuntu + OpenElec dual boot (This is not an option with the Matt Devo split - as it is effectively a standalone install with two OSs)
