XBMC > Kodi, SLOW performance
#1
Anyone except me that is experiencing a very big performance drop when they switched from XBMC to Kodi?
I have used every Alpha and Beta 2 and no difference.

It is very slow, it hangs for 1-5 sec when I click more than once on for example down key to move down in my library.
It takes ca 7-10+ sec longer to start a movie but after it has started it works just fine, but still slow when using mouse to stop/pause etc.

Tried some settings changing but nothing changed for the better.

Only way to make it "work" again is to revert back to XBMC 13.2.

Windows 2012

16GB RAM
HTPC/Server: Windows 10, Intel i5 3450S, 16GB DDR3, NVIDIA Geforce 210, HDMI > 55" TV, Windows SSD / Storage 8TB (Redundant)
Desktop: Windows 10, Intel i7 5820k, 12GB DDR3, Gigabyte Radeon HD 6970, 2x Samsung S24B350, Windows SSD / Storage 3TB (Redundant)

Yeah, two options:

a) stay with 13.2
b) Post the relevant logs the "Readme before posting" is telling you.
First decide what functions / features you expect from a system. Then decide for the hardware. Don't waste your money on crap.

Already moved back to 13.2 and removed all Kodi related, so I just posted more as an informational post.
Therefore the question if anyone else has the same problem and not asking for a fix for it.

Curious if there is more people experiencing the same problem.
Sooner or later I need/want to go to Kodi and problem might be solved then Big Grin

Thanks anyway Big Grin

Damn, don't I feel stupid, it felt like I forgot to write something in the first post...

That's true, I never thought about the addons that where installed, good idea to test later on.

oops, your right. my apologies. been ill for last few days and not concentrating.

could it be old sources that are no longer attached. read somewhere that phantom sources slowed down
because it was waiting to connect. (just a thought). Did you start with a blank database.

I added it AFTER you posted, I meant that you reminded me! :-D

No, I transferred the user data.
GF "needed" to get it up and running to watch some show so I just transferred the folder structure and got it running.
I will try it again when a stable is released I will have to try with a clean batch. I like a lot of the new features from 14 so I will have to updated later on.

Good thoughts, thanks mate!
