Sorry but, XP support was dropped a while back. Microsoft no longer supoorts it. Either upgrade Windows to 7/8 or switch to Linux.

the wiki page for Windows installs (http://kodi.wiki/view/Windows) still says:
"OS minimum to run XBMC: Windows Vista."

So if that is no longer true, it would be great if someone with a wiki login could fix it.

Vista is still valid, but if someone is upgrading why not just go to Windows 7/8? I guess my original statement could be confusing.

The last Frodo (12.3, from December 2013) is an option that works on xp, no?
That might be a short-term solution.
Another option - run OpenElec from a usb stick.

Pretty much the reason I didn't even mention upgrading to Vista. That and the various odd issues Kodi has had with Vista in the past.
